Active Edit montage coming in next post Posted By Rich on 12/19/11: I've got a new montage for anyone who still checks out this site. Some footage is new and some is old. Sadly to say it's my last VX1000 montage. I've always thought VX1000 footy looks better than HD and still believe that til the day I die. The problem is, I can't rely on a camera that hasn't been remade in over 10 years. If Sony kept making VX1000's, I'd buy them forever. The bottom line is I want to film skating and film my friends no matter what. I just got a Canon 60d for photography, but it has HD video and I got a fisheye to go with it as well. If anything, this will get me out more often on the streets filming knowing it's reliability and wanting to shoot some photos as well. I'm heading to LA this weekend to test out my first batch of footy and will return with some video for people to hate on including myself. I kind of think of it as a glorified digi cam. VX1000, I will miss you, but I'm hoping my new camera will bring some more footage to this site and get me out skating and doing what I've always loved to do. But before I go into the ten worst/best days I’ve ever spent in San Francisco, let me publicly apologize to Ryan Ruoff for linking the wrong part. Here is his part, and all the links are fixed. Now to the juicy shit. The days leading up to the premiere were a little heavy. With brown outs sweeping the City (figuratively speaking), fist fights and stolen cars were abound. Don’t worry though, because the fights were won and the stolen car was found, as it was once before, about two years prior. So needless to say, my moral was low going into the day of the premiere. But then a pretty deep crew arrived and all bummers were forgotten. Cameron came in from Seattle, Rich Bacon came up from San Diego, and TP, Spencer, Joey, Skippy, John Demar, Ruoff, TP, and Skatin’ Steve trekked it out from Orange County to root on local ex-blind am MossMan and his big screen debut. Oh yeah, Alex and Karl met up too, and the party began. Moss hooked up the tickets, and somehow we all managed to fit perfectly, front row center, with enough beers to last us... well not that long. Luckily, being the man of action he is, Alex saw some stacks of 12 packs, snagged one, and kept the party going. The video began and the shit was good. After the obvious favorites of Moss and Boozentitz, I’m calling James Hardy and Jake Donnelly having the best shit. Moss should have gotten a full part, but whatever, it was short and sweet. After the premiere Rich and I managed to go on a pretty embarrassing fan out mission, chatting up our favorite pros like this was our Comic Con. Then things got kind of hazy for me around midnight. I awoke in my car somewhere in the Mission at around 8 am, thanks to a wake up knock from a meter maid. This was one of the better nights. If you didn’t make it, you fucking blew it. Oh ya, Moss, sorry about the headlock. I’m out to Europe, be back in a couple months, I think the site is paid for until then. If not... I guess the site will be down. Here's a little montage that's long overdue. It was a fun day just messing around at some random spots. Ruoff's kickflips are money. I also just came across this new Chad Fernandez part and was blown away. It's cool to see after putting out an amazing part years ahead of his time in The Storm, he's still killing it even without any big sponsors. Whether you always thought he was a kook or awesome, you gotta give him credit for always putting out some crazy footage. Joey's Ramp Jam went down last weekend and it was a super fun time. Posted By Rich on 3/24/10: I totally forgot about the session that went down at the flowershop on our San Fran trip and just finally got around to turning it into a little edit. It was pretty tough to film there, so don't mind the janky filming, but there's some pretty entertaining clips mostly due to John Choi's charging around and slamming every other run. Having a tall can or two may or may not have contributed to the carnage. It was great to get back out skating this last weekend since my camera works again and Spencer, Damien, Steven, and Ryan came down. We got a bunch of fun footy and I'll have a mini vid from the day up in the next week. Unfortunately, the day ended with Spencer's ankle getting Jersey Shored. (That's the term I'm coining for someone getting broke off) Ya I know I'm lame, but that girl still got knocked the flick out. Here's a fat montage from Gregson with throwaway from his video and John Demar has almost another full throwaway part of gnarly footy too. Can't wait for his real part. I finished Truman's part and that will be up in a couple of days followed by Damien's part a couple days after that so hopefully this buttload of footy with make up for the lack of content here. I've also been going out a lot recently and I should have a new montage within a month or so. Last weekend good ol Sean Weikel graced my presence and it was good to see him back on his board. Hopefully he'll be able to get some good stuff in the weeks to come. I have an idea for a project on the website which would involve something going live every week for a couple of months and im pretty excited about it. I ran the idea by Joey, Spencer, John Demar, and Nick and they all seemed down so well see. Posted By Rich on 11/18/09: I was able to make it back up to the OC for a local vid premiere called Warfare out of Huntington and it was awesome. Great filming, editing and skating. I can't find the link to buy it, but I'll find it and post it up another time. Here's the final quick promo for it. Sometimes I get the urge to try to be artsy and after seeing how this turned out, I could find about 1000 other clips just like it online with lens flares and all. I'm digging the new site, but for the record, I never threw any of Cameron's finest herbs out the window as Nick stated on the SF vid. Cameron and I did have a little argument in the car ride home, but what's a sf trip without a fight? Rest assured, Cam and I are speaking to each other again. I guess Nick just likes to elevate situations which I can respect, but the more people that thought it was true, I just felt like I should put it out there so the whole world doesn't think I'm a dick even though I was sick of the dody talk that weekend. I wanted to completely revamp this shit to coincide with the kind words written about us in Templeton Elliot's “Sklog” article in this months THE SKATEBOARD MAG (by the way, if anyone wants to scan that, or take a picture, or loan me that mag, it'd be appreciated). Unfortunately, I’m trying to graduate from college, and it’s a bit stressful, so updating the site hasn’t been my first priority. Anyways, as of right now we do have some videos up, all of them are from Richard, the work horse of this site. As of right now we have the SF video up, and a John Demar Web part. The John Demar part is really fucking solid. Just click on the dog to the right of this box, and see what else we have in store for you guys for this current project. Now as for 4Kegger, I was going to put it up too, but I got some requests that it had a some what proper premiere/release party, so I’m going to put off posting that for about a little over a month. Premiere info will be provided later. And don’t worry if you didn’t get enough footage in 4Kegger this time around, because this video is a never ending process. There will be more 4Keggers to come.
